Principal, Committee to Unleash Prosperity, Club 4 Growth Founder, Heritage Economist, Wall Street Journal Writer

Distinguished Visiting Fellow for the Heritage Foundation’s “Project for Economic Growth”, and the author of “Who’s the Fairest of Them All?: The Truth about Opportunity, Taxes, and Wealth in America”. Stephen Moore, who formerly wrote on the economy and public policy for The Wall Street Journal, is the Distinguished Visiting Fellow, Project for Economic Growth, at The Heritage Foundation. Moore, who also was a member of The Journal’s editorial board, returned to Heritage in January 2014—about 25 years after his tenure as the leading conservative think tank’s Grover M. Hermann Fellow in Budgetary Affairs from 1984 to 1987. He was a senior economist under Dick Armey’s Joint Economic Committee, and he played a large role in the creation of the FairTax proposal.

Executive Director, Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service

Dr. Eric Scorsone is Executive Director of the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.  Eric has over 25 years of public service in academic settings, as well as many years’ experience in state and local government.  He has expertise in state and local public finance and administration and regional economics.  His most recent position before joining UVA was at Michigan State University as Associate Professor and Founding Director of the MSU Extension Center for Local Government Finance & Policy, and director of the MSU Extension Institute of Public Utilities.  During his tenure at MSU, Dr. Scorsone went on leave for state-level appointments as Deputy State Treasurer at the Michigan Department of Treasury and Senior Economist at the Michigan Senate Fiscal Agency.  

Prior to MSU, Dr. Scorsone was an assistant professor and developed award-winning extension programs in rural health economics and economic development in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky. Prior to Kentucky, he served as an Economist for the Colorado Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budget and as a Senior Economist for the City of Aurora, Colorado.

Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia

 

Dr. Burton has been a Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia since 1988. Dr. Burton is a Trustee and former Chairman of the Virginia Retirement System. He is an internationally respected professional in the fields of consulting, investment banking, politics, and teaching. Dr. Burton’s areas of financial expertise include asset management, security valuations, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, options markets, and hedge fund management. He has been featured in publications around the world and is a renowned speaker. He is a former President of Rothschild Financial Services, Inc. and Senior Vice President at Smith Barney. He is a director and consultant for several corporations and numerous organizations and is featured on the podcast, Where the Rubber Meets the Road Economics.
